Waiting Part One

(Waiting Part One, from Fearless Moral Inventory, words and music by Juliet A. Wright, copyright 2010, all rights reserved)  Waiting Part One

All my life I’m waiting

For one thing or another

Patience is my lesson

And time is my mother

All my life I’m running

As the bus drives away

Is waiting any better?

Will it bring you back to stay?

Wait for the doctor

Wait for the nurse

Wait for the devil

Wait for the curse

Wait for the ‘vator

Wait for the bell

Wait for an earthquake

Then wait for hell

Wait to crawl

Wait to fly

Wait for forever

To find out why

Wait for the bus

Wait for the train

Wait for my love

Standing in the rain.

All my life I’m waiting

For one thing or another

Patience is my lesson

And time is my mother

All my life I’m running

As the bus drives away

Is waiting any better?

Will it bring you back to stay?

Wait to come

Wait to go

Wait for time

Wait to know

Wait to live

Wait to die

Wait to love

Wait to lie

Wait to be clever

Wait for forever

Wait for the truth

Wait for proof

Wait to be loved honored cherished

Then wait to perish

All my life I’m waiting

For one thing or another

Patience is my lesson

And time is my mother

All my life I’m running

As the bus drives away

Is waiting any better?

Will it bring you back to stay?

Day in day out I wait for you

To finally come home at last

Show your face or set me free

Cuz I’m really fading fast

I walk the floor, stare at the door

Yellow ribbons round the tree

I fear not even the hands of time

Can bring you home to me

Wait for the mail

Wait for the phone

Wait for a friend

Wait to be alone.

Wait to be touched

Wait to be loved.

Wait for a seed

Then wait to bleed

Waiting for silence

Waiting for sound

Waiting for someone

To bring me around

Waiting in line

To lose my mind

What I might find

Insanity is mine

Waiting to sob

From the bottom of my soul

Trying like hell to give up control

I’m waiting

Just keep Waiting

I’m still waiting

Just keep waiting
