Waiting Part Three

Why must I keep waiting

For hours without salvation

What is it that I’m gaining

But pain and frustration

Why must I keep waiting

What is it I’m to learn

If it’s peace I have none

More lessons will I earn

Wait to be hired

Wait to be fired

Wait for a voice

Wait for a choice

Wait to work

Wait to rest

Wait to try and

do your best

Wait to be rich

To scratch that itch

Wait to retire

To fill desire

Wait to boot up

Wait to shut down

Make me shut up

And get out of town

Why must I keep waiting

For hours without salvation

What is it that I’m gaining

But pain and frustration

Why must I keep waiting

What is it I’m to learn

If it’s peace I have none

More lessons will I earn
