He Was Telling Me

He was telling me,

Top to bottom

Do that book.

Just tell your story.

Don’t worry so much.

I’ve got you covered.

Your book and your music are the thing.

Don’t forget that.

I am the Lord.

I am the Lord.

He was telling me

Get your ego out of the way

Hidden Angel

Is for you to mend yourself

Heal yourself so you can share your gifts with others.

Sing from the center of your soul.

Get inside the music, become it.

Get inside the book, live it.

Be its pages turning.

Then you’ll get the learning

Live a life worthy of the

Calling received.

You feel rejected and oh so sad.

When will you learn the lessons you’ve had.

I’ll make you suffer ‘til you put me first.
Forget about them, friendships’ cursed.

Leave that town

Shake the dust off your feet.

Then he hit his sandal

Against the wall.

That’s God’s call.

He was telling me:

Throw these idols into the fire

Bowing down to them will lead you astray

The comfort you seek is found in my arms

Leave them behind, my love is here to stay.

I’ve got to let go and trust him.

God has to be number one.

If I want to hear him

I must sit and listen

In silence

Listen for his voice.

Dear God, I’m sick of this place,

Evil attitudes in every space

Costumes and oils to cover their stink

Traffic for miles that drives you to drink

Go to Vermont, says my friend.

Vermont Life was in on it.

The cover story

 “Discover Our Music.”

O God I’m listening!

Your Spirit’s glistening!

He was telling me:

Get this plastic world out of your life

You did your best, now go back where you belong.

This place is not in keeping with who I am

You know this place for you is wrong.

Am I trying to please people

Or would I rather make God Smile?

Trying to please people

Is like the tower of Babel

Chose God now

And He’ll show me the way.

In Zeb’s illness I went to despair.

Feeling all the grief in the air.

Then she said,

See the positive side.

He’s is getting treatment,

God will provide.

From the ends of myself

I cried to God

Dear God he’s dying?

God aren’t you listening?

Why don’t you save him?

He was telling me

Get your anguish out of the way.

Have a little faith

For I’m in control.

You’re going to have to trust me

There is no other choice

Be still and listen for my voice.

Aren’t you going to trust me?

I am here to help thee.

Aren’t you going to trust me?

I am here to save thee.

Put your troubles in a goblet

And give them all to me.

Nothing happens in my world by mistake

Please trust and listen to me.

Noah got a sign from a dove,

That hope was on the way.

God gave me my music.

To help me get through the day.

Drink up, dear, peace lies within.
Just keep playing

This is for your healing!
Just keep creating!

It’s like you are praying!

He was telling me

Get your ego out of the way

Hidden Angel

Is for you to heal yourself

Have the guts to run the race

I’ve set for you.

Listen, you know what you must do.

Aren’t you going to trust me?
I am here to help thee.

Aren’t you going to trust me?
I am here to save thee.

Are you ready to love yourself?

I am here to help thee.

Are you ready to love yourself?

I am here to save thee.
